PLAY2DISC Kick-Off Meeting in Câmpia Turzii (Romania). January 9–10

On January 9–10, the partners of PLAY2DISC (Play to Disconnect) held the project’s Kick-Off Meeting in Câmpia Turzii, Romania, hosted by APPC (Asociația Părinți pentru Copii). Over two productive days, we met in person to introduce our teams, align on the project scope, and agree on the initial work plan that will guide the coming months.

What is PLAY2DISC?

PLAY2DISC is an Erasmus+ Small-scale Partnership in Adult Education (KA210-ADU) running from October 2025 to September 2026. The project brings together APPC (Romania) as coordinator and EIMBG – European Institute for Modern Board Games (Spain, Valladolid) as partner. KA210-ADU-38C03E6C

The project’s main goal is simple: help families build healthier digital habits by raising awareness about the risks of early and excessive mobile phone use, and offering a meaningful alternative for leisure time through modern board games—creating shared moments that strengthen communication and family cohesion. Project objectives (in a nutshell)

During the kick-off, we confirmed the project’s concrete objectives and how we will achieve them: KA210-ADU-38C03E6C

  • Awareness campaign for families and educators on responsible digitalisation and the risks of excessive screen time. KA210-ADU-38C03E6C
  • A board game-based methodology that helps parents and children replace passive screen time with engaging, face-to-face play. KA210-ADU-38C03E6C
  • Pilot workshops in four educational centres, refining the approach through real implementation with families. KA210-ADU-38C03E6C
  • Two meeting spaces (Câmpia Turzii and Valladolid) where families can keep playing and learning together beyond the workshops. KA210-ADU-38C03E6C
  • Open dissemination through a website, resources, and public events to ensure long-term impact and replicability. KA210-ADU-38C03E6C

What comes next?

PLAY2DISC is organised in a clear sequence of activities across the year: KA210-ADU-38C03E6C

  • Oct 2025 – Feb 2026: Awareness campaign on responsible digitalisation KA210-ADU-38C03E6C
  • Feb – Jun 2026: Board game-based family workshops (pilot implementation) KA210-ADU-38C03E6C
  • Jul – Sep 2026: Creation of the two family meeting spaces + final dissemination KA210-ADU-38C03E6C

Thank you, APPC!

A special thank you to Corina Bozbici and the whole APPC team for the outstanding welcome and hospitality, including our visit to Școala Gimnazială “Avram Iancu” and the social moments that helped us connect as a real team.
